What are Retinoids? What do they do? Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives that unclog pores, stimulate collagen production to reduce fine lines, and boost cell turnover to even out discoloration and give the skin a smoother appearance. Retinoic acid is the end product that cannot be reconverted and stored in the cell for later use and is also responsible for many of the symptoms of discomfort experienced when first using Retinoic acid in a topical formulation.
